FAQ’s

Picture
  • How long will I be in Therapy for?
That all depends on what you want to achieve in therapy. We can discuss that at the first meeting. But it will range from weeks to years.
  • How often do sessions last?
1 hr for a session but we can discuss longer or shorter dependent on you needs.
  • How often will I need to come?
Again we can discuss this at the first meeting, recommendations for therapy are once a week however some people benefit from twice weekly and others every other week. We might decide to start with a certain time frame and then review.
  • How would we meet?
If you are local to the East Midlands we can look at in-person sessions.  A majority of my work is via zoom.
  • Who do you work with?
I specialise in working with Artists.   Dramatherapy can support any one who wants to work creatively when exploring how their life impacts them. I have experience working with anxiety, self harm, shame, sexual abuse and exploitation and impacting trauma.
  • Will I need to talk about things I don’t want to talk about?
The great thing about creative therapies is that we don’t always have to work directly on the things from your past or the things that are affecting you now. We can work creatively together with metaphors, play and the ‘as if’ to separate you from the things that are affecting you. All therapy is offered from a non-judgement, person centred place meaning I will follow your lead and support you to explore things at your own pace.
